In Season 1, Stringer admits to Avon that he told Little Man and Wee-Bey that they could stay the cash that they recovered after murdering Orlando. It's right away determined later on, though, that the cash is actually police money, and should be destroyed.
But ahead of the shooting we never see a scene during which Stringer tells Little Man and/or Wee-Bey that they might take the money. It's this type of bizarre persona oversight for Stringer, too, to not be more suspicious and tactical, considering who he's all the way through the first season and until his loss of life.
Stringer makes a lot of mistakes which can be understandable when he commits them, e.g. ordering the hit on D'Angelo, unintentionally violating the Sunday Truce, looking to pit Omar in opposition to Brother Mouzone, and so forth. We have a front-row seat and witness all of his decision-making, and the way these mistakes compound.
Not the cash grab, regardless that. His first notable mistake, and it occurs off-screen. It undercuts the first second when it is published that Stringer isn't in reality a felony mastermind. He's no longer the Queen.
This kinda connects with something in Season 4.
In Season 1, Stringer makes the proper name and orders Bodie and Poot to homicide Wallace. McNulty at the start thinks D'Angelo is accountable for Wallace's death, and McNulty in fact looks in point of fact hurt that it came about.
If I take into account appropriately, it was once the reminiscence of Wallace's dying that brought on McNulty to seek out D'Angelo in Season 2(, now not figuring out that Stringer had already had D'Angelo killed).
The years go on, and McNulty and Bodie expand a relationship. McNulty likes Bodie, and Bodie clearly has some appreciate for McNulty. The complete time, McNulty has no concept that Bodie was one in every of the triggermen who gunned down his witness, Wallace, and it by no means comes up.
I do not believe that McNulty ever suspected Bodie's involvement. Honestly, I'm glad that it never came up, because that scene in the arboretum -- when Bodie asks, "Are we still in Baltimore?," after which rubs his face and says, "I feel old..." -- would have opened up method, approach otherwise, if it had even took place in any respect.
Still, despite the fact that. I've to surprise how McNulty would have handled it had he identified that the guy with whom he had eaten lunch and joked with was once the similar man who murdered Wallace.
