It's an excellent spot to get out into nature, while nonetheless being within easy using distance from Marana, Oro Valley, and Tucson.

Tortolita Mountains Elevation & Access

All of the paths involve elevation adjustments and some have some steep, rocky sections. The trails range from 2,800 to 4,three hundred toes. elevation. Wild Burro Trail

Critters & Plants

If you're fortunate, you might even see probably the most wild horses that experience escaped from ranches or a Sonoran barren region tortoise lumbering alongside. You may additionally come upon mule deer, javelina, and desert-dwelling birds reminiscent of roadrunners, Abert's towhees, verdin, Gila woodpeckers, Northern sparkles, Northern cardinals, phainopeplas, and lots of more. Keep an eye out for crested saguaros too.      

After rainfall, fairy duster, penstemon, desert mallow and brittlebush unfold a carpet of wildflowers along the trail. If you still alongside Wild Burro Canyon Trail to its terminus, you'll come to an outdated ranch site with a watering trough and a windmill. There are some awesome overlooks to the west toward the Silverbell Mountains and to the east towards the Santa Catalina Mountains alongside the course. There are also alternatives to branch off to different trails to make loops of varying sizes.

Be Safe

Bring your individual water, hat, sunscreen, snacks, and put on appropriate climbing footwear/boots. Please keep dogs on a leash and select up after them. Don't cut switchbacks; it causes erosion and will make for bad path prerequisites. Have fun and be safe.
